Funerals and Memorials

Ecclesiastes 3: 1-4

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die....A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance....

Our mission…

It is said the sound of the violin is closest of all the instruments to the human voice. When the right words are hard to find, people turn to music, the
sound of which is comforting in a world dominated by the anonymity of texting and tweeting.  At a funeral it’s not about the electronics. It’s about
real people reaching out to real people.

When goodbye is the most difficult thing to say…

For funeral services, memorials and graveside services, music is reassuring, filling in the spaces between loss and acceptance.  A funeral is more than a service to mark a passage. It’s a celebration of a life that touched the family, friends and colleagues who gather to say goodbye. Songs bring back vivid memories of the times spent together, of conversations, of holidays, of accomplishments and relationships. Some of the songs we have been asked to perform include “My Way” and “Go Rest High on That Mountain” as the families’ way of signifying a life well lived.

For visitations music invites reflection and remembrance. It helps initiate the grieving process for some while for others relieving the awkwardness of the gathering. Silver Strings fills the waiting for a service to begin with beauty and solace.

1/10/15  "Thank you far all of your counsel and expertise in helping me plan the music for mother's services. Everything was perfect. You have a special gift with people and music. The events would not have been complete or as meaningful without these artists. Each one was exceptional. I cannot thank you enough. I certainly know who to call when I need talented musicians. It was most helpful to have your kind assistance and patience during an emotional time."
